As Peter, a militia leader, Zahn, who just won an Emmy nomination for his work on HBO's The White Lotus, will take on the role. This month marks the beginning of production.

Goodman, Edi Patterson, and Adam Devine co-star in the show that McBride created. The second season of the show wrapped up in February, and it was renewed for a third season back in January, when it was first announced.

With its dark humor and deviant and greedy family members, The Righteous Gemstones is an excellent dark comedy about an internationally famous family of well known televangelists, and its second season saw its empire threatened by outsiders from both its past and its present. Walton Goggins and M. Emmet Walsh have also lately appeared on the show.

Jody Hill and David Gordon Green, together with Jeff Fradley and Brandon James, are the film's filmmakers and executive producers. Jonathan Watson and David Brightbill are co-executive producers. Grant Dekernion, Kevin Barnett, Edi Patterson, and Chris Pappas serve as consulting producers.

Mike White's anthology drama series, The White Lotus, stars Zahn most recently. George and Tammy with Jessica Chastain and Michael Shannon, as well as An Unconvincing Portrait and The Good Lord Bird are some of his other recent film and television projects. In recent years, he has appeared in films such as Tall Girl, Where'd You Go, Bernadette? and War for the Planet of the Apes.

UTA and Principal Entertainment LA represent Steve Zahn.
