Dreamy Theatre Teacher, Toxic Coworkers Clash In 'STANDBY' At Chain Theatre Festival

This spectacular festival of live performances by the best independent artists took place at the Chain Theatre, one of New York City's top Off-Broadway venues.

This summer festival included the work of a number of New York City-based playwrights, including STANDBY, which was presented as one of the selected voices.

The play STANDBY examines what transpires when the aspirations of a dreamy theatre instructor are derailed by unsupportive coworkers. The play depicts what it's like to be a teacher in the twenty-first century by contrasting funny talks in the teacher's room with drama taking place on stage and in the principal's office.

After GHOSTLIGHT (NY Theatre Festival) in the fall of 2021 at the Teatro LATEA, Annie Raczko (playwright/director) returns to the New York stage with her second play. Her last appearance was in Moms the Musical (written by Kelly Surrette , directed by Victoria Rae Sook).

Annie Raczko plays the vivacious theatre teacher Valerie in the play. Jade E. Anderson (The Robbear) plays the hip and yoga-practicing art teacher Lisa. Lori Caplan Clark (PJ's Playbook) plays the sarcastic but protective art teacher Cathleen. Stuart Ginsberg (Wednesdays at A's; Followers) plays the rule-following principal George. Keith Keyes (Cousins; Trouble Man Mercy) plays the history teacher
