The NBA's greatest shooter hosts The ESPYS live on ABC on Wednesday, July 20, at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT. In commemoration of the significant sporting accomplishments and memorable occurrences from the previous year, the award show celebrates top celebrities from the sports and entertainment industries.
Curry claimed in a written statement, "I've had the pleasure of attending The ESPYS, but I never anticipated I'd have the privilege of hosting this wonderful event. I'm excited to present a thrilling presentation for the audience as we honor the sportsmen that produced the best moments of the year because I adore the fusion of sports and entertainment.
The well-known Curry is the ideal candidate to host this year's event. He has spent all 13 of his NBA seasons playing for the Golden State Warriors, the franchise that originally selected him. He is the all-time greatest scorer for the Golden State Warriors and the only player in NBA history to make 100 3-pointers in the NBA Finals. He was also among a select group of players to win MVP titles two years in a row. In addition to these achievements, he recently beat Ray Allen's previous record for most three-pointers made in NBA history. Additionally, he has eight times been chosen as an NBA all-star.
Rob King, senior editor-at-large for ESPN Content, stated, "Steph has long been one of the brightest stars in the sports constellation, and we're excited to have him share his passion for sports, his wit, and his infinite skill with The ESPYS."
"He's a singular performer who'll definitely add luster to our celebration of some of this year's most fascinating moments," the article reads. "Whether shining on the court, communicating with fans on social media, or proving a dedication to communities through different humanitarian deeds."
